Terms of Service
Last updated:
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Sketchief. Please read them - by using Sketchief, you agree to them.
Sketchief is operated by Oliwer Rudek, trading as Sketchief, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("Sketchief", "we", "us"). You can reach us at info@sketchief.com.
1. Accepting these Terms
By creating an account or using Sketchief, you confirm that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. What Sketchief does
Sketchief is a tool that helps you plan and prepare cold email campaigns. It helps you build strategy, research leads, and draft personalised emails and follow-ups.
Sketchief prepares campaigns. It does not send emails on your behalf — you export your emails and send them using your own email sending tools. What you do with the output is your responsibility (see Section 5).
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Sketchief.
- You must give accurate information when signing up and keep it up to date.
- You're responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything that happens under your account.
- Tell us straight away at info@sketchief.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
4. Bring your own API keys
Sketchief runs on your own API keys from third-party AI and data providers (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Perplexity, Google Gemini, and Apify). That means:
- You're responsible for obtaining your own keys and for all costs those providers charge you.
- You must follow each provider's own terms of use.
- We store your keys encrypted and use them only to run your account (see the Privacy Policy). We're not responsible for those third-party services, their availability, their pricing, or their output.
5. Acceptable use — your responsibilities
This is important. Sketchief gives you tools; you decide who to contact and are responsible for that.
You agree that:
- You have a lawful reason to contact your leads. You are responsible for having a valid lawful basis to hold, research, and email the people on your lists, and for complying with all applicable laws — including UK GDPR, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and equivalent laws in other countries (such as CAN-SPAM in the US).
- You will honour opt-outs. You'll include a way for recipients to unsubscribe where required, and you'll stop contacting people who ask you to.
- You won't misuse the service. No unlawful, deceptive, harassing, hateful, or abusive use. No uploading of special-category / sensitive personal data. No using the service to break any law.
- You are the data controller for your lists. You decide whose details to upload and why. We act as your data processor for that information, handling it on your instructions to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you need a separate data processing agreement, contact us.
If you breach this section, we may suspend or close your account. You're responsible for any consequences of how you use the emails and data Sketchief helps you prepare.
6. What you can and can't do with the service
You may use Sketchief for your own legitimate business outreach. You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or copy the service itself
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the underlying software
- Use the service to build a competing product
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Overload, disrupt, or attack the service
7. Plans, free trial, payment, and refunds
Free trial. New customers get a 7-day free trial. During the trial you can use the product and cancel at any time without being charged.
Paid plans. After the trial, paid access is billed through our payment provider, Stripe, according to the plan you choose. For our current plans and prices see our pricing page. Prices may change; we'll give notice of changes before they affect you.
No refunds. Because you get a full 7-day free trial to decide whether Sketchief is right for you, all payments are non-refundable. We don't provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or leads you didn't use.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time, and you'll keep access until the end of your current paid period. Cancelling stops future charges; it doesn't refund past ones.
Cooling-off waiver. Normally, UK consumers have a 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase and get a refund. By subscribing to a paid plan, you ask us to start providing the service immediately and you acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel and receive a refund once the paid service begins. (Your 7-day free trial gives you the chance to try before you pay.)
8. Who owns what
- Your content and output. You own the leads, information, and settings you put in, and the emails and other output Sketchief generates for you. You're free to use that output for your outreach.
- The platform. We own Sketchief itself — the software, design, branding, and everything that makes up the service. These Terms don't give you any ownership of it.
You give us permission to process your content only as needed to provide the service.
9. Disclaimers
- Sketchief uses AI, and AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. You're responsible for reviewing everything before you use or send it.
- We don't guarantee any particular result — including deliverability, open rates, replies, or sales.
- The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
- We're not responsible for third-party services (such as the AI providers or your email sending tool).
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, or lost business.
- Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
11. Suspending or closing accounts
- You can close your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, or don't pay.
- When an account closes, we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and let you know. If you keep using Sketchief after a change, that means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
